Report: Official: OPEC output cuts may top earlier deal
MOSCOW, Oct 6 (PRIME) -- OPEC oil producers can reduce output by more than previously agreed after a meeting in November, Algerian Energy Minister Noureddine Boutarfa told channel Ennahar TV in an interview broadcast on Thursday.
“We will assess the market (at the upcoming meeting) in Vienna in late November and if 700 barrels is not enough, we will raise (the level of output reduction),” Boutarfa said.
At the last meeting on September 28, OPEC states agreed to taper production by 32.5–33 million barrels of oil daily but no stipulations were made regarding each of the countries.
